- Self Care: I’ve been using this BeautyCounter skin care line and I am seriously impressed! I am not sure though if my reduction in dark spots is because of the skin care OR the fact that I don’t really see the sun, like EVER. #quarantinelife
- Sweet Treat: Sophie and I made these brownies the other night and they were delicious! My naturopath would approve too – they are made with monk fruit, which is the recommended sweetener for people with my gut health issues (SIBO and CANDIDA). I ordered them through Thrive market, which was very convenient during quarantine. Thrive market is like a healthy person’s warehouse store where you can find just about anything to support your healthy foody lifestyle. I love that they have categories for every need (Paleo, Keto, Gluten Free, Fodmap, etc.) so you can explore new and exciting options while also getting your favorite staples. The best part is…. it’s all delivered to your doorstep.
- Podcast: I have been binge listening to Jim Kwik’s Kwikbrain podcast lately. I love his “bite sized” brain hacks that help us to read faster and be all around better and quicker learners. I once learned that if you have a goal to acquire skills, it makes a lot of sense to pick something that benefits you in many different areas. Listening to this podcast also inspired me to join the #1bookaweek challenge. I already finished my first book “High Performance Habits” by Brendon Burchard. Admittedly, I had already read it a few years ago but to be honest, this time around I was a new person reading it and got so much out of it. The next book I chose from my “shelf help” collection (it’s not self-help until you actually read it!) is “The New Gold Standard” which is a book about how Ritz-Carlton creates a legendary experience for their customers.
- Workouts: I’m still going strong with my Beachbody workouts. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to be able to access hundreds of workouts from home during this time. The ones I have been particularly enjoying are the 21 Day Fix workouts, PIYO, Core De Force (boxing feels very empowering during this time), yoga, and Body Beast (weight lifting). I know I will be leaving quarantine stronger than when I went in.
- Succulents: I AM OBSESSED. I just love how resilient these plants are (they remind me that we too are resilient during this time). I love them so much in fact that I asked my family to enroll me in the “succulent of the month club” at Succulent Studios. I am stoked to see what they send me! Did you know that NASA actually did a study that proves that plants can help remove toxins from the air we breathe? Check out this cool video that explains it all.
Now it’s your turn… What are you loving in quarantine? I would love to hear from you. Drop me a comment below!
